“I love French as it constantly challenges me with new hurdles at every turn. I believe French is an integral subject to Canadian society as it enables us to keep our colonial history in our curriculum and learn more about French culture. French teaches me that there are many cultures that are unique and fascinating in their own way. Moreover, my teacher, Mr. Amega is amazing and very supportive at all times. He helps me correct my mistakes and guides me through assignments. Something i do find challenging in French is that I rarely get to apply it to real world situations, but it is very useful when i travel to Europe on vacation. I would definitely recommend that everyone take French.”

“I find Japanese to be a very engaging subject as I enjoy learning about new cultures and ways of life, which are prevalent aspects of the subject. I always find it intriguing how different communication and traditions can be in other regions of the world. The positive experience is further supplemented by the relaxing and supportive classroom environments that Japanese takes place in. I also love learning about new grammar and literature. Sometimes, however, I do have trouble with formulating long statements and paragraphs, as it is difficult to translate my words. But, my teachers and peers are always supportive and I always recieve the help I need.”

"I love teaching Languages as it allows me to connect my students with new cultures and facilitate explorations by encouraging curiosity. Modern Languages is always useful, as it enhances students' understanding of diversity and improves their ability to communicate their thoughts. For example, French is very useful in Canada because it allows students to get better jobs and also opens them up to more universities in the future that require French as a high school subject. Moreover, Modern languages also help students that like to travel by enhancing their communicative abilities. I would encourage everyone to learn a language aside from English!

“Modern Languages is a very useful subject, as it helps with getting jobs in the future, and is also required to enter into some universities. Moreover, Languages help students develop skills that help them explore different cultures and places. Languages also improves students' abilities to understand and communicate their thoughts and opinions, while respecting others' perspectives. When teaching Languages, I like to encourage flexible study and note-taking methods to allow students to maximize their learning in their own unique way. Students in my class participate in presentations and assignments, which allows them to consume large amounts of information and understand it in an efficient manner. Overall, Languages is a very useful subject and i encourage everyone to try it.”
